Tatra kho āyasmā sāriputto bhikkhū āmantesi: “siyā nu kho, āvuso, bhikkhuno tathārūpo samādhipaṭilābho yathā neva pathaviyaṁ pathavisaññī assa, na āpasmiṁ āposaññī assa, na tejasmiṁ tejosaññī assa, na vāyasmiṁ vāyosaññī assa, na ākāsānañcāyatane ākāsānañcāyatanasaññī assa, na viññāṇañcāyatane viññāṇañcāyatanasaññī assa, na ākiñcaññāyatane ākiñcaññāyatanasaññī assa, na nevasaññānāsaññāyatane nevasaññānāsaññāyatanasaññī assa, na idhaloke idhalokasaññī assa, na paraloke paralokasaññī assa, yampidaṁ
There Sāriputta addressed the mendicants: “Could it be, reverends, that a mendicant might gain a state of immersion like this? They wouldn’t perceive earth in earth, water in water, fire in fire, or air in air. And they wouldn’t perceive the dimension of infinite space in the dimension of infinite space, the dimension of infinite consciousness in the dimension of infinite consciousness, the dimension of nothingness in the dimension of nothingness, or the dimension of neither perception nor non-p
かの地にて、舎利弗は比丘たちに語りかけた。「尊者方よ、ある比丘がかくのごとき三昧の境地を得ることはあり得るでしょうか。その比丘は、地において地を想わず、水において水を想わず、火において火を想わず、風において風を想わない。また、空無辺処において空無辺処を想わず、識無辺処において識無辺処を想わず、無所有処において無所有処を想わず、非想非非想処において非想非非想処を想わない。
