“Mendicants, I will teach you the teaching of the noble ones, and what is not the teaching of the noble ones. Listen and apply your mind well, I will speak. … And what is not the teaching of the noble ones? Killing living creatures … wrong view. This is called what is not the teaching of the noble ones. And what is the teaching of the noble ones? Not killing living creatures … right view. This is called the teaching of the noble ones.”
「比丘たちよ、我は汝らに聖者の教えと、聖者の教えにあらざるものを説かん。よく聴き、心して思念せよ、我これを語らん。……では、聖者の教えにあらざるものとは何か。生きとし生けるものを殺すこと……邪見、これを聖者の教えにあらざるものと称す。では、聖者の教えとは何か。生きとし生けるものを殺さざること……正見、これを聖者の教えと称す。」
