“Mendicants, I will teach you the noble descent. Listen and apply your mind well, I will speak.” “Yes, sir,” they replied. 「比丘たちよ、われは汝らに聖なる家系について説かん。よく聴き、心して思念せよ。われ今説かんとす。」「然り、世尊よ」と彼らは答えた。仏はかく説き給えり。……「瞋恚は悪しき果報をもたらす……」……彼らは瞋恚より降り来る。……「邪見は現世においても来世においても悪しき果報をもたらす。」かく省察することにより、彼らは邪見を捨て、邪見より降り来る。これを聖なる家系と名づく。」「では比丘たちよ、聖なる家系とは何か。それは、聖なる弟子が次のごとく省察するときである。『生き物を殺すことは……』」
