「尊師よ、人々は『僧伽の分裂』と申します。僧伽の分裂とはいかなるものと定義されるのでしょうか」「ウパーリよ、それは比丘が、法でないものを法であると説き、法であるものを法でないと説く場合である。律でないものを律であると説き、律であるものを律でないと説く場合である。如来によって説かれ示されなかったものを、如来によって説かれ示されたものとして説き、如来によって説かれ示されたものを、如来によって説かれ示されなかったものとして説く場合である。
