“Mendicants, a mendicant with five factors, using and frequenting lodgings with five factors, will soon realize the undefiled freedom of heart and freedom by wisdom in this very life, and live having realized it with their own insight due to the ending of defilements. 比丘たちよ、五つの資質を具えた比丘が、五つの資質を備えた住処を用い、そこに親しみ住むならば、やがて現世において、諸漏の滅尽により、無漏の心解脱・慧解脱を自ら証知し、実現して住むであろう。では、いかにして比丘は五つの資質を具えるのか。聖なる弟子が如来の正覚に対して信を有する時、すなわち「かの世尊は、阿羅漢にして、正等覚者、明行足、善逝、世間解、無上士、調御丈夫、天人師、仏、世尊である」と。
