「まず、ある比丘がいるとしよう。彼は諸々の欲楽を遠離し、まったく離れ……初禅に入り、そこに住す。彼はあらゆる面においてその境地を直接体験しながら修している。そして彼は智慧をもってそれを了知する。この限りにおいて、世尊は条件付きの意味で両面解脱者について説かれたのである。……さらにまた、ある比丘がいるとしよう。彼は非想非非想処をも完全に超え越えて……」
