“Mendicants, when a mendicant’s mind has been well consolidated with wisdom it’s appropriate for them to say: ‘I understand: “Rebirth is ended, the spiritual journey has been completed, what had to be done has been done, there is nothing further for this place.”’ And how is a mendicant’s mind well consolidated with wisdom? … ‘My mind is not liable to return to rebirth in the formless realm.’ When a mendicant’s mind has been well consolidated with wisdom it’s appropriate for them to say: ‘I under
比丘たちよ、比丘の心が智慧によって善く確立されたとき、その者がこのように述べることは相応しい。「我は了解せり。『生まれ変わりは尽き、梵行は成就し、なすべきことはなし終えられ、もはやこの境地において来たるべきものは何もなし』と。」
では、いかにして比丘の心は智慧によって善く確立されるのか。……「我が心は、もはや無色界への再生に赴くことなし」と。比丘の心がかくのごとく智慧によって善く確立されたとき、その者がこのように述べることは相応しい。「我は了解せり」と。
