“Navayime, bhikkhave, sattāvāsā. Katame nava? Santi, bhikkhave, sattā nānattakāyā nānattasaññino, seyyathāpi manussā, ekacce ca devā, ekacce ca vinipātikā. Ayaṁ paṭhamo sattāvāso. Ime kho, bhikkhave, nava sattāvāsā”ti. Santi, bhikkhave, sattā nānattakāyā ekattasaññino, seyyathāpi devā brahmakāyikā paṭhamābhinibbattā. Ayaṁ dutiyo sattāvāso. Santi, bhikkhave, sattā ekattakāyā nānattasaññino, seyyathāpi devā ābhassarā. Ayaṁ tatiyo sattāvāso. Santi, bhikkhave, sattā ekattakāyā ekattasaññino, seyyath
“Mendicants, there are nine abodes of sentient beings. What nine? There are sentient beings that are diverse in body and diverse in perception, such as human beings, some gods, and some beings in the underworld. This is the first abode of sentient beings. These are the nine abodes of sentient beings.” There are sentient beings that are diverse in body and unified in perception, such as the gods reborn in the Divinity’s host through the first absorption. 「比丘たちよ、衆生の住処は九つある。その九つとは何か。 身体が多様であり、想もまた多様である衆生がいる。たとえば、人間、一部の天神、そして冥界に生きる一部の衆生がそれである。これが第一の衆生の住処である。 身体が多様であり、しかし想は統一されている衆生がいる。たとえば、初禅によって梵衆天に転生した神々がそれである。これが第二の衆生の住処である。」
