“Mendicants, the killing of living creatures, when cultivated, developed, and practiced, leads to hell, the animal realm, or the ghost realm. The minimum result it leads to for a human being is a short lifespan. Stealing, when cultivated, developed, and practiced, leads to hell, the animal realm, or the ghost realm. The minimum result it leads to for a human being is loss of wealth. Sexual misconduct, when cultivated, developed, and practiced, leads to hell, the animal realm, or the ghost realm.
「比丘たちよ、生き物を殺すこと、これを繰り返し修習し、育み、実践するならば、地獄、畜生道、餓鬼道へと導かれる。人間として受ける果報の最も軽きものでさえ、短命という結果をもたらす。偸盗もまた、繰り返し修習し、育み、実践するならば、地獄、畜生道、餓鬼道へと導かれる。人間として受ける果報の最も軽きものでさえ、財物の喪失という結果をもたらす。邪淫もまた、繰り返し修習し、育み、実践するならば、地獄、畜生道、餓鬼道へと導かれる。」
