“Mendicants, there are four areas where the Realized One has nothing to hide, and three ways he is irreproachable. What are the four areas where the Realized One has nothing to hide? His bodily behavior is pure. So the Realized One has no bodily misconduct to hide, thinking: ‘Don’t let others find this out about me!’ These are the four areas where the Realized One has nothing to hide, and the three ways he is irreproachable.” His verbal behavior is pure. 比丘たちよ、如来には隠すべきところなき四つの領域があり、また非難されることなき三つのあり方がある。如来に隠すところなき四つの領域とは何か。如来の身の行いは清浄である。ゆえに如来には、「他の者どもにこのことを知られてはなるまい」と思い隠さねばならぬような身の悪行は、いささかも存在しない。如来の口の行いは清浄である。ゆえに如来には隠さねばならぬような口の悪行は、いささかも存在しない。これらが如来に隠すところなき四つの領域であり、また非難されることなき三つのあり方である。
