比丘たちよ、静謐にして清浄、寂静にして一境なる三昧を具えざる比丘が、神通の諸種を自在に行ずることは、まったく不可能である。すなわち、一身より多身を化現し、また多身より一身に還ること、顕現しあるいは隠没すること、壁・城壁・山を隔てることなく、あたかも虚空を行くがごとく通過すること、地中に没入しまた浮出すること、あたかも水の中を行くがごとく、水上を歩むこと、あたかも大地を行くがごとく、鳥のごとく跏趺を組んで虚空を飛行すること、手をもって日月に触れ撫でること——
