Without examining or scrutinizing, they praise those deserving of criticism, and they criticize those deserving of praise. 「比丘たちよ、五つの性質を備えた在住の比丘は、まるでそこへ運ばれたかのごとく、地獄に堕とされる。その五つとは何か。彼は、よく検討も吟味もせずに、批判されるべき者を賞賛し、賞賛されるべき者を批判する。よく検討も吟味もせずに、疑わしきものに対して信心を起こし、信仰に値するものに対しては信心を起こさない。そして、浄信をもって捧げられた布施を無駄にする。これら五つの性質を備えた在住の比丘は、まるでそこへ運ばれたかのごとく、地獄に堕とされる。
