“Catūhi, bhikkhave, ṭhānehi appamādo karaṇīyo. tattha ca mā pamādattha. Katamehi catūhi? Kāyaduccaritaṁ, bhikkhave, pajahatha, kāyasucaritaṁ bhāvetha; tattha ca mā pamādattha. Micchādiṭṭhiṁ, bhikkhave, pajahatha, sammādiṭṭhiṁ bhāvetha; Yato kho, bhikkhave, bhikkhuno kāyaduccaritaṁ pahīnaṁ hoti kāyasucaritaṁ bhāvitaṁ, vacīduccaritaṁ pahīnaṁ hoti vacīsucaritaṁ bhāvitaṁ, manoduccaritaṁ pahīnaṁ hoti manosucaritaṁ bhāvitaṁ, micchādiṭṭhi pahīnā hoti sammādiṭṭhi bhāvitā, so na bhāyati samparāyikassa ma
“Mendicants, you should be diligent in four situations. Don’t neglect this. What four? Give up bad conduct by way of body, speech, and mind; and develop good conduct by way of body, speech, and mind. Don’t neglect these things. Give up wrong view; and develop right view. A mendicant who has done these things does not fear death in lives to come.”
「比丘たちよ、汝らは四つの事柄において精進すべきである。これを怠ってはならない。いかなる四つか。身・口・意による悪行を捨て、身・口・意による善行を修めよ。これらを疎かにしてはならない。邪見を捨て、正見を修めよ。これらのことを成し遂げた比丘は、来世における死を恐れることがない。」
