“Cattārimāni, bhikkhave, suvidūravidūrāni. Imāni kho, bhikkhave, cattāri suvidūravidūrānīti. Katamāni cattāri? Nabhañca, bhikkhave, pathavī ca; Orimañca, bhikkhave, tīraṁ samuddassa pārimañca; Yato ca, bhikkhave, verocano abbhudeti yattha ca atthameti; Satañca, bhikkhave, dhammo asatañca dhammo; Nabhañca dūre pathavī ca dūre, Pāraṁ samuddassa tadāhu dūre; Yato ca verocano abbhudeti, Pabhaṅkaro yattha ca atthameti; Tato have dūrataraṁ vadanti, Satañca dhammaṁ asatañca dhammaṁ. “Mendicants, these four things are very far apart. These are the four things very far apart. What four? 比丘たちよ、これら四つのものは、はなはだ遠く隔たっている。遠く隔たるものとは何か。四つとは何か。
虚空と大地と。……大海のこなた（此岸）と彼岸と。……日の出ずる所と、日の没する所と。……善人の法と悪人の法と。
虚空は大地より遠く、大海の彼岸もまた遠しと説かれる。日の昇る所も、かの光明の没する所よりはるか遠しと説かれる。しかれどもそれよりもなお遠く隔たれるは、善人の法なりと説かれる。
