Then, when the night had passed, the Buddha addressed the mendicants: “Tonight, the glorious godling Rohitassa, lighting up the entire Jeta’s Grove, came to me, bowed, stood to one side, and said to me: ‘Sir, is it possible to know or see or reach the end of the world by traveling to a place where there’s no being born, growing old, dying, passing away, or being reborn?’ … <em>(The rest is the same as the previous discourse, AN 4.45.)</em>
やがて夜が明けると、世尊は比丘たちに告げられた。「今宵、ロヒタッサという名の光り輝く天神が、祇陀林全体を照らし出しながら我が許に訪れ、礼拝して傍らに立ち、こう申した。『世尊よ、生なく、老なく、死なく、没なく、また生を受けることもない境地へと赴くことによって、世界の果てを知り、見、到達することは可能でございましょうか』と……」
