「何が老い、何が老いぬものか。何が逸脱と呼ばれるものか。善なる法への障壁とは何か。昼夜問わず尽きゆくものとは何か。梵行の垢とは何か。水なき沐浴とは何か。世において、財が漏れ出る穴はいくつあるか。尊者よ、われらはあなたに問いに参りました。これらをいかに理解すべきでしょうか。」
「死すべき者の色身は老いる。しかれども、その名と家系は老いることがない。貪欲は逸脱と呼ばれ、慳貪は善なる法への障壁である。青春の時は昼夜を問わず尽きゆく。」
