As a cowherd drives the cows to pasture with the rod, so too old age and death drive life from living beings.
牧人(まきびと)が牧杖(ぼくじょう)をもって牛群を牧場へと追い立てるように、老い(おい)と死もまた、生ける者どもの命を絶えることなく追い立てていくのである。
