All tremble at the rod, all love life. Treating others like oneself, neither kill nor incite to kill.
棒罰(ぼうばつ)に、すべての者は怯(おのの)く。いのちを、すべての者は愛(め)でる。己(おのれ)が身に引き比べ、他者を傷つけることなかれ、また他者をして傷つけしめることもなかれ。
