Unsnarled, they set out for the jungle, then they run right back to the jungle they left behind. Just look at this individual! Freed, they run to bondage.
束縛を解かれ、彼らは林へと旅立つ。されど、かつて後にした林へと、またも舞い戻るのである。この者を見よ。解脱しながら、再び繋縛へと走るとは。

Besotted by lust they fall into the stream, like a spider caught in the web she wove. The attentive proceed, having cut this one too, unconcerned, having given up all suffering.
愛欲に溺れた者は、みずから張った巣に囚われた蜘蛛のごとく、激流へと沈みゆく。心して修める者は、この絆をも断ち切り、一切の苦を捨て去りて、悠然と歩みを進める。

思念に翻弄され、欲情深く、美しきものにのみ心を向ける者にとって、その渇愛はいよいよ増し募り、彼を強固な絆もて縛り上げるのである。

我は勝利者にして、一切を知る者。あらゆる事物の中にありながら、汚れなき存在なり。我はすべてを捨て去り、渇愛の滅尽によって解脱せり。自ら証知せる我が、誰の弟子となるべきや。

財宝は愚者を滅ぼす、されど彼岸を求める者を滅ぼすことはない。財への渇愛ゆえに、愚者は己をも他をも滅ぼすのである。

雑草は作物の災いなり、されど貪りはこれらの人々の災いなり。それゆえに、貪欲を離れたる者への布施は、まことに大いなる功徳をもたらすのである。
